Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), India’s leading FMCG company, has announced the appointment of Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective September 1, 2025. Nair succeeds Rohit Jawa, who will step down from his role after two years to pursue opportunities outside the Unilever Group.
Priya Nair, a seasoned Unilever veteran with over three decades of experience, has been with the company since 1998. Currently serving as Unilever’s Global Chief Marketing Officer for Beauty & Wellbeing, Nair has held key leadership roles across marketing, sales, and global strategy. Her contributions include driving iconic brands like Dove, Lux, and Lifebuoy, and spearheading initiatives in digital transformation and sustainability. Nair’s deep understanding of the Indian market and her global expertise make her a natural fit to lead HUL into its next phase of growth.
Rohit Jawa, who took over as CEO in June 2023, played a pivotal role in navigating HUL through a challenging economic environment. Under his leadership, the company strengthened its focus on innovation, premiumization, and operational efficiency. HUL expressed gratitude for Jawa’s contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The transition comes as HUL continues to solidify its position in India’s competitive FMCG sector, with a focus on sustainable growth and consumer-centric innovation. Nair’s appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives, leveraging her expertise in brand-building and market insights.
HUL, a subsidiary of Unilever PLC, operates a portfolio of household brands across categories like personal care, home care, and foods, serving millions of Indian consumers. The company remains committed to its purpose of making sustainable living commonplace.
